The Tompkins Family: February 2009

Happy Valentines Day!! We are doing well in the Tompkins' household and thought we needed to update our blog with some new photos, videos and information. It's hard to believe that Ally will officially be a toddler at the end of this month! She's very tall for age and has gained confidence in herself lately and it's so fun to see her learn new things. Most recently, she has become a big help in giving the dogs their food. She holds the bowl while Scott pours the food in and then sets it down for each dog. She talks to them and tells them "Ehh mow" which I think means "it's food." And says "ere" for here so they will follow her. She loves to help!! (You will also enjoy the video at the end where she takes this task one step further!)

Ally also has begun her pretend play, mostly in feeding her dolls or lovey. She likes to use a bowl and "boon" (spoon) to feed them and will even pretend pouring food into the bowl. She makes cute eating sounds as she pretends. We are so blessed with a healthy and happy little girl. And most recently we discovered that the Lord has blessed us again with another baby. Alexis is due with our second child Sept. 18. Many of you knew this already, but we thought there were still a few out there who hadn't heard. We're very excited and anticipate that Ally will make a wonderful big sister.
